As you will be aware we recently submitted a proposal to Milton Keynes City Council to expand the secondary pathway at Romans Field School. This proposal aims to address the growing demand for specialist provision within Milton Keynes. We are pleased to share with you that the proposal has been agreed in principle and will now move to the next stage; a statutory consultation on the proposed changes. This consultation, led by Milton Keynes City Council, will run from 10 November 2025 to 7 December 2025. A delegated decision on whether to proceed with the proposal is scheduled for 27 January 2026 and will be made by the Lead Member for Children and Young People.
Information about the proposal is attached and is also published on the council’s website here. We would welcome your engagement with the consultation and if you would like to comment on the proposal, please complete the online response form. Thank you for your participation.
In October, some of our year 5 and 6 children took a trip down to Lincolnshire to the PGL in Caythorpe!
The children and staff had an amazing couple of days, participating in a range of activities and learning lots of new skills. Some fears were faced while we were away and lots of children overcame their fears and completed tasks they didn't think they would. The children behaved amazingly and represented the school well. We are extremely proud of them. You can now find some of the photographs from the trip in the gallery.
Our Christmas Card project is well underway, each child will be creating their own festive designs !
Parents/carers will be able to purchase printed cards with their child's design just in time for Christmas. Keep an eye out for any letters or parentmail's with more information.
Please see the poster attached with information regarding the MHST and their support available throughout the summer.
Come and join us on Tuesday 15th July for our coffee and talk morning! Have the opportunity to speak with Mrs Young and Miss Branch from our pastoral and SEND team! This month Sendias School Nurse and Ruth Hill will also be joining! Mrs Gray will now also be attending these mornings and parents/carers of children who attend Priory Common School are also invited to join us! We look forward to seeing you all.
We held our very special Dream Big Day — a fantastic opportunity for children to start thinking about their futures, explore the world of work, and begin dreaming about the careers they might one day pursue.
The day was filled with exciting activities designed to get children thinking creatively and confidently about their ambitions.
A real highlight of the day was welcoming a number of parents into school to talk about the jobs they do. The children were fascinated to hear about the different career journeys and what each job involves. These talks truly brought the world of work to life and showed the children just how many paths there are to explore.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents who kindly gave up their time to speak to the children. Your insight, enthusiasm, and willingness to share your experiences were truly inspiring and appreciated by staff and pupils alike.
Dream Big Day was a resounding success — and who knows, we may have sparked the first steps toward some future engineers, detectives, nursery nurses or IT technicians!
This is what the children said:
“It was amazing and it was very inspiring.”
“I liked how it made me think about the future.”
“I enjoyed learning about the railways.”
“It was really fun and interesting to learn about all the jobs.”
Come and join us on Tuesday 24th June for our coffee and talk morning! Have the opportunity to speak with Mrs Young and Miss Branch from our pastoral and SEND team! This month Mr Outram will also be joining to discuss any internet safety concerns you may have.
We would like to welcome Mr Gareth Thomas, who will be our new teacher in Peonies for the Summer Term, and Mrs Bianca Bromfield, who is now the additional teacher in Year Four. Her class will be known as Foxgloves.
Mrs Cleere’s last day will be Friday 24th April, as she will now be going on maternity leave! We send her our best wishes at this exciting time.
